The club had a great season last year: the 1st team were promoted to Division 1, whilst the 2nd team finished in 3rd spot in Division 6 of the Pontefract League. Get the latest news on cricket...

All the junior teams enjoyed a successful season and the popularity of the sport means that numbers are increasing all the time. This benefits the club on a number of levels, but especially the youngsters, who gain in both sporting and personal development.

The fixture handbook has been a great success and thanks go to everyone who helped to produce the book, but especially Louise.

This year, we are pleased to play hosts to touring teams from Somerset and the Isle of Man. We have also hosted a Junior Doncaster and District representative cricket match which is a great honour for the club. Everyone is welcome to come down and enjoy an afternoon of cricket.

We have recently installed a new artificial net end with the help of a £3000 grant from the Lords Taverners charity and £1000 worth of work from the cricket club. This helps with coaching, especially the younger players, allowing other areas of the ground to be used for practising other skills.

The £15 match ball sponsorship has been very successful and I shall endeavour to list the sponsors in the next news.

As always, lots of work is done by dedicated people to keep the club successful, especially over the summer months. I would like to thank everyone concerned, particularly the captains, the coaches, ground staff, tea ladies, junior team managers and all the committee members.

Keep fingers crossed for a long hot dry cricketing summer!
